Summary
The coat of arms is based on a picture at the website of the Presidency of Nicaragua. It is a triangle with a rainbow and mountains. There are five volcanoes representing the five countries of Central America. The red shape that looks like the sun is in reality a cap. This red cap represents the independence of Central America from Spain.
The blue tone is officially defined as 'cobalt blue'; Pantone 300C used here is recommended by Album des Pavillons and [1]. The proportions for the flag are 3:5 and for the stripes 1:1:1. The height of the coat of arms is 9:10 compared to the height of the middle stripe.
