Adenocarcinoma of Ascending Colon Arising in Villous Adenoma'
This ascending colon tumor shows two distinct components, 1) a non-invasive villous adenoma on the right of the image, giving rise to 2) an invasive mucinous carcinoma on the left. The latter tumor has interrupted the ribbon-like contour of the muscularis propria. Despite the transmural invasion, all 19 lymph nodes were negative for tumor.
