Article 8. Works that are not objects of copyright
The following shall not be objects of copyright:
- Official documents (laws, court decisions, and other texts of legislative, administrative and judicial nature) as well as official translations thereof;
- State emblems and official signs (flags, armorial bearings, orders, monetary signs and other state symbols and signs);
- Works of folklore;
- Information on the news and facts that are of the common press-information nature;

Comment – The Abkhaz Republic is a self-proclaimed state with no international recognition. While de-facto independent, it is regarded as a part of Georgia.
